FACILITATOR TRAINING
A year-long program to become a Certified Facilitator of the FASCETS Neurobehavioral Approach
VISION
Through this work, we aim to create conditions that allow all individuals, regardless of their brain-based differences, to live healthy and meaningful lives.
What is it, and who is it for?
It is a year-long program designed to help people deepen their understanding of the FASCETS Neurobehavioral Approach through immersion in the concepts of the brain-behavior connection. Small groups of up to ten participants allow for conversation, collaboration, and networking. The process fosters personal transformation that leads to effectively communicating the approach to others, whether that is through facilitating workshops or simply talking with neighbors, family, and community members.
It is open to anyone who has completed at least a 15-hour workshop on the FASCETS Neurobehavioral Approach conducted by a Certified Facilitator. Anyone passionate about the need to educate and change thinking about neurodiversity, the meaning of behaviors, and the nature of effective supports and accommodations is encouraged to apply.
How does it work?
The year-long process will be delivered virtually through 22 bi-weekly, 3-hour Zoom sessions with both summer and winter holiday breaks. It is a dynamic process that includes support and open conversation and uses many different learning modalities. As such, group participation is vital.
An additional 2-4 hours of work between group sessions, including practice presentations and written evaluations, will be assigned throughout the year. This strengthens skills in the facilitation and application of the Neurobehavioral Approach.
Participants who attend all sessions and complete all assignments will receive certification and all the materials required to facilitate workshops on the FASCETS Neurobehavioral Approach. All materials are copyrighted and should only be used as intended with proper citation by the Certified Facilitator. In addition, Certified Facilitators are invited to join monthly virtual community sessions to continue deepening understanding and stay up-to-date with new materials.
